Embassy of Belgium in the Republic of Korea

Belgium in the Republic of Korea

Welcome to our website

MESSAGE FROM THE AMBASSADOR

Ambassador François Bontemps

Dear Belgian and Korean friends,

With my wife, I am pleased to return, in a spirit of service, to Korea, a country we love, to broaden and deepen the partnership between our two countries. Let us try to stay together in an adventure of friendship that draws its source from a long history and solid foundations. For our part, we will strive to be strong and united enough to navigate through crises, address common challenges and correct our own mistakes; to be sharp and smart enough to identify and develop shared opportunities. Hoping to meet you personally along the way, I thank you in advance for your support and wish you all the best.

François Bontemps

TRAVELLING TO KOREA

From April 1, 2023 until December 31, 2024 inclusive, Belgian travelers wishing to travel to Korea no longer need to apply for a Korean electronic travel authorization (K-ETA). More information here.

Travelers visiting Korea on vacation or on a business trip can inform the Embassy of their trip on www.travellersonline.diplomatie.be. It is recommended to enter your information (such as your current COVID symptoms) into the Korean authorities' registration system (Q-Code) prior to departure, to shorten your waiting time at immigration control.

For all questions related to the Corona virus, travelers to Korea can contact the number 1339. (Option 5 connects you with a translation service for service in English). You can find the latest situation on the Korean Center for Disease Control and Prevention website: https://www.kdca.go.kr

For further questions you can contact us by e-mail at consular.seoul@diplobel.fed.be or by telephone on +82 (0)2 749 0381. Also keep an eye on our Facebook page and follow the travel advice (in NL/FR only).

Are you a Belgian who has recently moved to the Republic of Korea and would like to register with the Embassy in Seoul? Did you lose your identity card or your passport while you were travelling through the Republic of Korea as a tourist? Do you need to request a visa in order to travel to Belgium? Then you’ve come to the right address.

This website will keep you up to date on consular matters that are specifically applicable to Belgians in the Republic of Korea, current events in Belgian foreign policy and other useful information or events.
